Winter 2006

ADULT 1 – (Auditorium)
TOPIC: A Word Fitly Spoken
TEACHER: Matt Amos

Proverbs 25:11 says, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” A word fitly spoken is a word defined, spoken, and applied in a Godly Way. They are words that are used in the context of the Bible. In this class we will take various words/subjects of the Bible such as faith, grace, works, love, worship, law, etc. and see how the world is defining and applying these words, how the religious world is defining and applying these words, and how the Bible defines and applies these words. Have these words changed in meaning over the years and have these changes fueled doctrinal departures among us. We will assess the change that is taking place in churches of Christ.

ADULT 2 – (Room 206)
TOPIC: Minor Prophets (continued)
TEACHER: Russell Cook

In times of spiritual and moral decay, God raised up men (prophets) who spoke to the people in an effort to turn them back to God. These prophets emphasized the deity of Jehovah and the wickedness of His people in contrast to His infinite qualities and character.

The writings of the prophets are some of the most beautiful and majestic writings of the Bible. Through this study, we should become better acquainted with each prophet. Our goal, though, is to have a better knowledge and understanding of our God who inspired these writers.

ADULT 3 – (Room 217/219)
TOPIC: A Bible Study for All Ages (Part II) (continued)
TEACHER: Tom Griffith

This study consists of four units. Some Old Testament and some New Testament lessons are studied each year so that students will have an opportunity to study great spiritual truths such as faith, love, salvation, worship, the church, sin, etc. in each unit.

Our studies for this quarter will cover:
Jesus’ Early Life and First Year of Ministry
Adam
Noah
Job
Moses

ADULT – Ladies (Room 221)
TOPIC: Seeking Spiritual Strength (continued)
TEACHER: Carole Smith

We will be studying the book “Seeking Spiritual Strength” by Dr. John Hobbs. Thirteen chapters focus on different aspects of daily living that relate to a Christian’s spiritual strength and depth. In the class, we will also enjoy growing closer to each other as we grow closer to God.
