Wednesday Evening Classes

Winter 2007-2008

ADULT - (Auditorium)

TOPIC: “The Bible” - Our Source of Authority in

Religion

TEACHER: Henry Piper

Are you seeking spiritual guidance and direction in your life? Do you have serious questions about spiritual teaching and issues? This study provides Bible answers! Christianity and Christian doctrine offer the true answers to questions such as: Does God really exist? What is the purpose and meaning of life? What is the origin of the human race? Can we receive eternal life after death? How can we be forgiven of our sins and receive the favor and blessings of God? This class will help us as we consider why the Bible is the best source of spiritual guidance and direction.

ADULT - (Room 221)

TOPIC: Matthew

TEACHER:Russell Cook

A study of the Gospel of Matthew is a combination of history, culture, theology, and biography of Jesus Christ. It is a chance to look into the text that records the infancy story, the Sermon on the Mount, the parables, and the passion of our Lord. This Gospel includes material that is not found in any of the other Gospels. Join us for a study of the life of Christ as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew.

ADULT - (Room 217/219)

TOPIC: Jacob and David (continued)

TEACHER:Bob Graham

This quarter we will study the biblical accounts of the lives of Jacob & David. We will look at both the blessing and cursing, the good and the bad, as God uses these young men in the unfolding of His scheme of redemption throughout the Old Testament.

ADULT - (Room 206)

TOPIC: Galatians

TEACHER: Bill Elliott

Paul’s letter to the churches of Galatia provides us with perhaps his most aggressive and detailed defense of his apostleship. He powerfully sets forth his calling, his credentials, and his doctrine. He explains the transition from the Law of Moses to the law of Christ, extols Christ’s superiority, and warns of the consequences of unfaithfulness to Him. A study of Galatians should help give us a clearer understanding of many things in the New Testament.

ADULT - College & Young Professionals (Room 204)

TOPIC: Faith and Understanding

TEACHER: Scott Davis

This will be a group study and discussion using various topical areas that are of interest to this group. We study selected scriptures and share individual knowledge and experiences that we all have in dealing with life’s many trials and successes. Using “ice-breaker” questions and “warm-up” suggestions, we use a group dynamic to discuss scriptures that have shaped our belief system. This quarter we will continue with “Turning Points”; How the Holy Spirit Changed History, and as time permits we will move into “Un-Common Sense for Daily Living”. This class provides a great avenue for discussion and sharing learning experiences. Come join our study.
