Growing up today is not very easy. Children are expected to mature and live in an adult world quicker than previous generations. When they graduate, are they ready for life? Our desire is that our children would grow up as Jesus did. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52. In other words, He matured intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially.
Our long-term goal is to train, equip, and mentor children's spiritual being into the image of God. We can’t depend on the media, Hollywood or even the education system to teach values, morality, or faith necessary for the journey ahead. God’s plan for love, learning and living must come from parents in the home. Our goal is to complement and support good family values and teaching through Christian education.
A comprehensive curriculum has been selected for our children’s Bible classes, which gives an overview of the entire Bible, beginning with three years old through grade 5. When the students enter the middle school youth group they are well grounded and familiar with God’s plan for their lives and comprehend Biblical principles for godly living in a corrupt world. We emphasize healthy, strong peer relationships, with wholesome, positive activities and service that honor God.
Children begin learning and processing information when they are born. We need to monitor and control the input, stimulation and interaction that our children are exposed to from the start.
Our infants and toddlers are taught about the love of God and His creation through song, stories, visual aids, and illustrations in a quality, clean and safe environment. If special needs arise, parents can be contacted through our paging system. An attended nursery is also available during worship.
Eager to learn and interact, young children will develop a desire and appetite for learning about God and will grow a faith that will last a lifetime. Much of a child’s personality is shaped and molded before they are six years old. Our custom-designed curriculum teaches Old and New Testament lessons beginning with the three-year-old class.
During Sunday morning worship children ages 3 years old through kindergarten are dismissed after communion to be a part of our TLC (Training Little Children) program where they can be taught on their level of understanding. TLC meets in Room 226. Participation is at the parent’s discretion.
In public schools our children learn the basic principles of language arts, math, science, and history. In our Bible school program they learn the language of love and the art of self-discipline by loving God, serving others and applying God’s word in daily living. Participation in class activities and at-home study is encouraged through various avenues.

Kids love to come to West End every Sunday night for a unique time of fun, friendship and faith-building lessons through interactive learning centers while parents are in worship. Children’s Bible Hour (CBH) is for kids between 2 years old and first grade. Christians Under Construction (CUC) is designed for children in grades 2 through 5. This program has a casual environment where children can learn about worshipping God, serving others, ministering in the church and sharing their faith.
This is an opportunity for advanced learning at home which includes Bible reading, memorization of scripture and prayer. Periodically, Kids4Christ sing at nursing homes, serve our seniors, give to those who have needs, participate in devotionals, celebrate at special dinners and lock-ins and have fun, relationship-building activities.
